paris in the springtime...

we just got back from paris. paris in the springtime sounds like it should be sunny but i guess mother nature didn't get that memo. it rained everyday except one. but we still had a great time. some of our favorite places/things were the eiffel tower (we kissed at the top), the louvre museaum (where we saw the mona lisa), versailles (which had beautiful gardens), and all of great food. this is probably one of our last trips (at least internationally) before our daughter is born. here are a few photos...

Getting to know her!

We had some great times in Paris. I had a chance to talk to my unborn daughter and get to know her!
We had several conversations but it is kind of hard having private talks when Ty is not listening to her iPod.
I think she likes music because she moves most when music is on. I will start playing Prince for her! Make her a retro little girl.

belly shots...

i'm not usually one to weigh myself but i decided to get on the scale yesterday and WOW! i know, "it's not fat it's the baby growing" (or at least that's what dill says and i'm going to go with that). so, here's some photos so you can see the progression of our "baby growing"...

6 Weeks

7 Weeks

12 Weeks

16 Weeks

20 Weeks

i'll be sure to add more photos as she (and i) keep growing...

halfway there...

i'm now 20 weeks (or 5 months) pregnant. we're halfway there (or halfway done depending on how you look at it). it seems like just yesterday that i took the hpt (home pregnancy test) and gave dill his new favorite shirt (see below).

time is flying by. we still have so much to do before our daughter gets here. on my to-do list (i love making theses)...
1. order furniture
2. paint the "baby's room" (it's no longer the "guest room")
3. clean out storage area to make room for stuff that was in the "guest bedroom"
4. sign up for childbirth classes
5. finish data analyses for dissertation

i'm sure there are lots of things that i left off (and that this list will grow--along with my belly) but those are the major things to do. prayfully they'll all get done before september...

it's (going to be) a girl...

in the past few years we've experienced many births (so to speak). the birth of our relationship, the birth of our lives as husband and wife, the birth of our website, and in september we're expecting the birth of our daughter! yes, daughter—we’re having a girl. it's funny, i was SO convinced that we were having a boy (don't ask me why, i just was). i'd even secretly purchased a robe & pillow for my "son" (they were on sale for less than $10 and were so cute i couldn't resist). boy was i was wrong. we had our "big" ultrasound and the technician said "it's a girl". i was shocked (very happy and excited, but shocked). dill knew before me (i guess they teach you how to "read" ultrasounds in med. school. something about a "hamburger"?). anyway, my prediction was wrong. so much for mother's intuition (i'll have to work on that in the next 5 months). i guess my DAUGHTER is teaching me that i can't be right all the time...
