(almost) done the nursery...

we're (almost) done the nursery. YAHOO! my mom, sister, and kanaiya were a BIG help when they came up last week. THANKS! we (or really i) still need to add a few accessories/decorations and finish her bathroom but for the most part it's done. i'm so excited. now i'm just waiting for our daughter to arrive so she/we can use it. here are a few photos from last week...

we've done some more since then but i'm too tired (or lazy) to take new photos. also, we still have the bed that used to be in the room when it was a "guest" room (we just set it up in the basement). so, guest still have a place to sleep when they visit. speaking of which...we have a sign up sheet for those who want to come visit (i.e. help) after the baby is born. hint, hint...

37 weeks...

today i'm 37 weeks pregnant. so i'm officially "full term" and my daughter can come out any time she wants. i'm actually encouraging her to come out (because i'm excited about meeting her). but it seems as if she's getting the message. i had an OB appointment yesterday and no real progress. my cervix is "soft" but no dilation and she still has not dropped :( but hopefully at my next appointment (next friday, sept. 7) i'll have some progress. like i said i'm encouraging her to come by walking, sitting on the yoga ball, and drinking raspberry leaf tea (all off of which are supposed to prepare you for labor). we'll see what happens. dill said he think she will be born on sept. 15. i'm not sure. i just don't want her to be late. when do you think she'll come? you can leave your predictions (and any other messages) by clicking on the "comments" button below. just so you know...i have no love for anyone who predicts that she'll be born after sept. 21--my due date ;)

As the pregnancy matures

I though I was kidding when I said we were both pregnant but looking at the pictures from our childbirth class I was totally wrong.

childbirth class(es)...

dill and i took our childbirth class on aug. 11. the class was all day long (9am - 5pm). we got so much information and it was funny to see dill wear the "sympathy belly". after the class i felt both more informed and overwhelmed/anxious. the realization that this baby has to come out has hit me. i'm sure dill will be a great support (or at least provide a good laugh) during labor. here are some photos from the day...

(some of you may know) my 3 year old cousin has asked to attend our daughter's "birthday". she called me one day after watching the baby story and said she wanted to see her cousin "be born". then she called to ask dill if she could come. since she was so persistent we decided to let her come (at least to the hospital--we'll see what happens on the actual "birthday"). so, a few days after (dill &) my childbirth class, kanaiya came to ny to take her childbirth class. here are the photos from her class...

new jersey baby shower #2...

my sister hosted a (second) shower in new jersey at my parent's house. as many of you know she loves "themes" so for this shower it was "tyhesha's about to pop". the invitations were bags of popcorn with customized wrappers. she continued the theme with popcorn centerpieces, "popcorn chicken" for lunch, a rented popcorn machine, and caramel popcorn favors with tags that said "thank you for popping in". the guest also decorated onesies for our daughter to wear. again, it was great to be surrounded by family who were excited about the upcoming birth of our daughter. and again everything was great and people were generous. we are so blessed. here are some photos...

(the last photos is of my burberry diaper bag from dill. of course--since it's from my husband--it's my favorite gift. thanks honey!)

new jersey baby shower #1...

our families each hosted baby showers for us in new jersey. dill's sister, brother, and sister-in-law hosted a shower at his brother/sister-in-law's home in newark. it was a surprise--well not totally. they told me they wanted to have a shower for us but i didn't know exactly when/where. it was a wonderful day. lots of family was there to celebrate the upcoming arrival of our daughter (some even traveled as far as atlanta). we had a GREAT time--good food, good company and everyone was so generous. since it was a surprise i didn't (consciously) pack my camera and didn't realize that i had it until near the end of the shower. so i don't have that many photos :( here are the few i have...

if anyone has any more please send them to us. we'd love to post them.
