(a lot of) hair...

k has a lot of hair. doing it is a task (especially since i bairly do my own hair). usually dill washes it (b/c he does the bed/bath routine more than i do) and i comb/bursh/syle it. until recently i've only put a head band on or two barretts in the front. this past week i've started putting it in (two or three) pigtails. below are photos of k's various "hairstyles"...

has it really been a month...

it's been a month since i've posted. no updates, no photo fridays, nothing. i apologize. i've really been working on my dissertation (or at least trying to). but (some) people have (kindly) mentioned that i need to post. so here's the short version...
  • k is sitting for longer periods of time on her own...
  • her hair is getting more and more wild each day (everyone always comments on how much hair she has) it now fits in (tiny) pigtails...
  • she's almost growing out her car seat so we've purchased her big girl car seat and new umbrella stroller...
  • we still are still trying to hold her off of solids (1. because "for breastfed babies, the APA recommends that the baby should receive only breastmilk for the first six months of life" and 2. because it's so much easier to nurse than to prepare food) but i'm starting to think we may start her a little early since k is starting to become really interested in food (i.e., she pretends/mimics chewing and reaches for our food). she has a dr. appointment next monday so we'll discuss the solids again then...
  • k seems to have put herself on a schedule. she's no longer a night owl. she has been falling asleep before 9pm (which is when dill was doing the bath/bed routine). there were days we were waking her up to change her/put her to bed (i felt bad for the poor kid). so now we try to get her down between 7:30 and 8pm...
  • she is reaching and grabbing for things and even reaches up/out when she wants to be picked up or go to someone...
  • she has discovered her feet. she plays with them and even put them in her mouth (yuck)...
  • she's getting bigger and bigger and more and more lovable each day...

she'll be 5 months old tomorrow. i'll be sure to post photos of her in her monthsie (and other photos too)...
